As part of its endeavour to nurture values, mindfulness, and an appreciation for India’s rich spiritual heritage among young learners, VISVAS Charitable Trust (Visva Vishnu Sahasranama Samsthan) visited Savitri Ammal Oriental Higher Secondary School and conducted a special Sri Vishnu Sahasranama chanting programme for the students as part of its Mazhalaiyin Mozhiyil Madhavanin Naamangal – MMMN XVI initiative.
VISVAS is an ISO-certified charitable organisation dedicated to spreading the chanting of Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam across the world. With a presence spanning 74+ countries and over 1.5 lakh devotees, the Trust seeks to bring the practice of Vishnu Sahasranama to children and young learners through schools and community programmes. Its work is guided by the five principles of Devotion, Discipline, Dedication, Determination, and Development.
The session provided students with an opportunity to participate in the collective recitation of the sacred hymn in an atmosphere of peace, devotion, and reflection. The MMMN XVI programme promotes Sri Vishnu Sahasranama chanting among school children with the aim of nurturing concentration, memory, pronunciation, and a joyful, stress-free outlook in young minds. The collective chanting also encouraged students to experience the values of discipline, devotion, and inner awareness associated with the practice.
The programme concluded with the distribution of Prasadam to the students, adding a meaningful and traditional touch to the gathering.
The school extends its sincere appreciation to VISVAS Charitable Trust for bringing this enriching spiritual and cultural experience to our students. Initiatives such as these provide young minds with an opportunity to connect with India’s cultural heritage while cultivating concentration, discipline, reflection, and harmony in their everyday lives.
