History of SAOHSS

The Savitri Ammal Oriental Higher Secondary School is run by Sri. V. Krishnaswami Iyer Sanskrit Education Trust, started with the munificent donation of Smt. K. Savitri Ammal, daughter of (Late) Hon’ble Sri V. Krishnaswami Iyer, on 1st September 1958. It was established with the blessings and in the immediate divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal, divinely known as Paramacharyal of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. The school was inaugurated at 3.30 pm on 31st August 1958 and was upgraded to a High School in 1966 and a Higher Secondary School in 1979. At present SAOHSS is a Government aided school.
